Practice Emphasis

Andy Cox's practice areas have included the defense of personal injury and wrongful death cases, toxic tort cases, premises liability and property damage cases, the prosecution and defense of breach of contract lawsuits, and the defense of employment discrimination and retaliation lawsuits, including suits brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Texas workers' compensation anti-retaliation statute.  Additionally, Mr. Cox's practice has recently expanded to included construction law matters, including actions to collect on construction contracts and the preparation and filing of mechanic's liens.

Mr. Cox has served as either a second chair or lead attorney in a number of trials in Dallas County where he has helped to obtain favorable judgments for the firm's clients.  He also served as a second chair attorney in a commercial arbitration where he helped to obtain a substantial award for the firm's client.  Mr. Cox has also counseled clients through mediation and other settlement discussions, when appropriate.  He also enjoys assisting the firm's clients to reach solutions to various legal problems encountered in their businesses by providing legal analysis and counseling in a variety of complex statutory and regulatory matters.
