Burford & Ryburn, L.L.P. of Dallas is set to receive the Texas Treasure Business Award on March 22nd in Austin. The award is in recognition of the firm's 100 years of service to Texas and the Texas business community. The award is also recognition for providing employment and supporting the Texas business economy.
Burford & Ryburn, L.L.P. is the first law firm in the state to receive the award. Blackie Holmes, an attorney with the firm and Mayor of University Park will be among the attorneys in Austin to receive the award. Attorneys who will also be in attendance representing the law firm are Lance Travis, Jennifer King, Sandy Meador and Wade Emmert, City Council Member for the City of Cedar Hill.

Representative Dan Branch will recognize the law firm and present Burford & Ryburn, L.L.P. with the Texas Treasure Business Award. The Texas Historical Commission is the administrator of the program for the state. On March 22nd the session will open at 10:00 in the morning. A resolution will be read on the House floor at the March 22nd session commemorating this award.
Burford & Ryburn, L.L.P. was founded in 1907 by M.B. Templeton who served as General Counsel to Texas Traction Company, which brought the railroad connecting Dallas and Ft. Worth in the early 1900's. The firm, with over 20 attorneys in Dallas, has a long-standing history representing businesses in Texas and Dallas, working with TXU, Baylor Health Care System, Lone Star Steel, Devon Energy, Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene and Methodist Hospitals in Dallas.
