John P. Baker is named Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation

     Burford & Ryburn, L.L.P. congratulates firm partner, John P. Baker on his recent honor of being named a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.  Fellows are chosen from one-third of one percent of the State Bar of Texas based upon an outstanding record in the legal profession as well as a commitment to the community at large.

     According to the Texas Bar Foundation, in addition to being a person of high professional standing among peers, a Fellow must be dedicated to the law and to the cause of justice.  "It is a privilege to be included in this fantastic group of people.  I am grateful to the Texas Bar Foundation Board of Trustees for this opportunity," said Baker.  "John is a tremendous asset to our firm and a credit to his profession.  He brings star quality, experience, and energy to a long-standing, traditional firm that people have come to recognize and trust.  John has earned this honor," said Jeb Loveless, managing partner of Burford & Ryburn, L.L.P.'s Fort Worth office.

     Mr. Baker practices eminent domain law throughout the State of Texas.  He has represented clients in many different types of eminent domain cases, including takings for pipelines, power lines, roadways, and other various projects.  John also represents clients in real estate and energy related litigation, including matters such as nuisance and trespass.  He was name 2007, 2008, and 2009 Rising Star by Law & Politics Magazine and published in Texas Monthly Magazine.
